The Cost of Live-In Care

The cost of live-in care can vary depending on the level of support required, the individual's care needs and the arrangements needed within the home. We will talk through your requirements with you so that we can provide a clear, personalised quotation.

How the cost is made up

The placement cost includes the amount for the independent live-in carer's agreed service and the agency fee payable to Live In Care Partners for its introductory service. The exact amount, payment schedule and any expenses are set out in the quotation or written agreement you receive before you commit.

The carers we introduce are self-employed, and you and your carer agree the day-to-day arrangement directly. We do not employ the carer or direct or supervise their care.

What support can a live-in carer provide?

The support provided is agreed between you and your carer. Depending on the person's needs, it can include:

• A live-in carer living in the home, with agreed support during the day and intermittent support at night where needed
• Personal care, such as washing, dressing and support with toileting
• Medication support, where required and agreed between you and your carer
• Meal preparation and support with nutrition and hydration
• Companionship and emotional support
• Support with maintaining independence
• Help with household tasks
• Shopping and essential errands, where appropriate
• Support getting out into the community
• Support with maintaining routines, hobbies and social activities
• Keeping family members and professionals informed, where appropriate
• Intermittent support during the night if required

The cost of live-in care can vary depending on a number of factors. At Live In Care Partners, we take each person's individual circumstances into account so that we can provide a clear and personalised quotation.

Complexity of care

The level and complexity of care required can affect the weekly cost. More advanced needs, such as dementia care, palliative care, complex mobility support or assistance with multiple care needs, may require a live-in carer with specific experience or additional training.

Location

The location where care is provided can also influence the overall cost of live-in care. Care costs can vary across different parts of the UK, with prices often higher in areas where the general cost of living and recruitment costs are higher.

Your day-to-day care requirements

The amount and type of support needed can also affect the cost. For example, care arrangements may differ where:

• Two people require care within the same household
• Regular support is required during the night
• There are more complex mobility or personal care needs
• Additional support is needed with household routines
• The individual requires a higher level of companionship and social support
• The live-in carer needs to accompany the client to regular appointments, activities or outings

Additional costs

The weekly live-in care fee covers the agreed care and support package. Additional costs will include the live-in carer's food and agreed expenses when accompanying the client on outings or holidays. These will always be discussed with you in advance, so there are no unexpected costs.
